Haft Rang — Dedicated Kids & Family Streaming Platform

My role: Full architecture design and full-stack implementation (backend & frontend)

Overview

Haft Rang ("Seven Colors") is a dedicated kids-and-family streaming platform — part of the ShadFilm family of products — built from the ground up to create a genuinely safe, educational, and entertaining space for children. Unlike general platforms that treat kids' content as just another category among hundreds, Haft Rang is a fully separate, purpose-built experience: from its colorful, playful UI to its parental-control system and multi-layer content filtering that guarantees every title is actually safe and appropriate for children.

Key Features

  • Multiple profiles per child, each with a dedicated avatar and age-appropriate settings (3-6, 7-10, and 11+)
  • A full parental control system: screen-time limits, PIN-locked profiles, and daily/weekly activity reports for parents
  • Multi-layer content filtering with manual review of every title before publishing, guaranteeing content is 100% appropriate for children
  • A rich library of dubbed and subtitled animation, cartoons, and educational content
  • Smart autoplay for the next episode, with an automatic stop after a set duration to prevent excessive screen time
  • A badges and rewards club to encourage children toward educational content and positive engagement with the platform
  • Offline download mode for watching without an internet connection while traveling or commuting
  • A fully colorful, animated UI with larger fonts and icons, designed specifically for a child-friendly user experience

Technical Architecture

The frontend is built with Nuxt3 and Vue 3, using server-side rendering (SSR) for extremely fast page loads and strong SEO; state is managed with Pinia so that switching between profiles, parental controls, and playback stays smooth and lag-free. The backend is fully implemented in Laravel with a RESTful API architecture, handling content management, child profiles, the badges/rewards system, and all parental-control logic (time limits, PIN codes, reporting). The primary database is MySQL, with Redis used for caching to reduce server load when multiple family profiles stream simultaneously. The entire service is deployed and maintained with Docker and Nginx to keep the platform stable and always available.

My Role

I was fully responsible for the project's complete architecture (both frontend and backend), implementing the multi-profile and parental-control systems, building the dedicated kids' UI in Nuxt3, and developing the Laravel APIs for content management and the platform's safety logic.
