Two Different Lenses on the Same Problem
OOP keeps data and behavior together in classes and objects. Functional programming (FP) is built on pure functions and avoiding direct data mutation.
Why They Aren't Really Rivals
OOP tends to feel more natural for modeling complex entities with internal state, like a user or an order; FP tends to be more readable and testable for data-transformation logic, like processing a large array. Languages like JavaScript and Python let you use each where it fits best, instead of forcing an entire project into one single style.
